    Production Artist 

     

    The Production Artist is responsible for building insert/catalog pages designed by our design team. The ideal candidate must have experience with retail insert, catalog, or magazine print production. The Production Artist takes the project from template development to final release to print suppliers and must be able to see an art project through from idea formulation to production, allowing a project to remain unified and efficiently implemented into the post-production stage.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Work closely with Production Manager and production team to complete production goals.
    • Collaborate with creative team on projects.
    • Execute, primarily in InDesign, well- structured files.
    • Prepare final press-ready files based on supplied specifications for various types of print needs.
    • Make various formats of supplied artwork production-ready and resolve any artwork issues that arise during production.
    • Perform image retouching, clipping paths and additional image manipulation.
    • Follow a development timeline to ensure task are being completed on time.
    • Work with Creative, Account, and Traffic Teams daily through the production process.

    Qualifications

    • 3 years or more experience in retail catalog/insert, product catalog, or magazine production.
    • Very proficient in latest version of Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
    • Experience with Master Pages in Adobe InDesign.
    • Experience with multiple page documents with several layers and versions.
    • Must be a self-starter, well organized, have strong interpersonal skills and an eye for detail.
    • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have the ability to adjust to changes and deadlines, and a commitment to working with a team.
    • Experience in Photoshop with clipping paths and knowledge of best image resolutions
    • Well versed in PDF formats and execution.
    • Composed and calm under pressure.
    • Well organized and an attention to detail.
    • Updated portfolio for review.
